As early as the 18th century, the European aristocracy, particularly the English and Russians, were looking for winter destinations to escape the bitter cold of their homelands. Nice Côte d'Azur, with its pleasant climate even in winter, became a popular destination.

Today, Nice is on UNESCO's World Heritage List as a "Riviera Winter Resort Town".

Nice Carnival 2024

From 17 February to 3 March 2024, the 151st Nice Carnival will enchant your customers on the theme of the "King of Pop Culture".

After a record-breaking attendance in 2023, the next Nice Carnival festivities will return to its creative and daring fairytale traditions.

France's biggest carnival, the Nice Carnival takes place over two weeks and three weekends in February, attracting several hundred thousand French and international spectators.

Skiing during the day and strolling along the seafront in the same day is a dream come true here in Nice Côte d'Azur. The exceptional sunshine enjoyed by Auron, Isola 2000 and Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage makes the azure-white mountain experience unforgettable.

From 7 December 2023 to 7 January 2024, the city of Nice will be decked out in decorations and illuminations of all kinds, with a host of events for the whole family to enjoy: craft markets, illuminations, shows, etc. (Programme under development). The shops will be decked out in their finest finery! The other towns in the region will also be offering fun and exciting programmes. What a pleasure to celebrate Christmas under the palm trees of Nice Côte d'Azur!

NIce accueillera l'Arrivée du Tour de France 2024

In 2024, Nice will host the finish of the Tour de France, as well as the football competitions of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the women's version of the French Ironman Championships!

With the success in 2023 of the Rugby World Cup, the men's Ironman World Championships, the Hopman Cup and the 2nd edition of the Ultra-Trail Nice Côte d'Azur by UTMB®, Nice Côte d'Azur has established itself as one of the key locations for the organisation of major international sporting events!
