In 2025, the City of Nice is celebrating the Year of the Sea, an exceptional programme dedicated to showcasing the city’s maritime heritage, raising awareness of ocean conservation and highlighting the deep-rooted links between the people of the Mediterranean and their marine environment. This initiative takes on particular resonance in the international context of the 3rd United Nations Conference on the Oceans, which serves as a reminder of the urgent need to take collective action to protect marine environments in the face of the growing threats of climate change, plastic pollution and overfishing.

Exhibitions, screenings, conferences, educational workshops, shows and major public events will punctuate this year, which will be dedicated to the sea, as part of a participatory and inclusive approach.
