Managed by the French Hiking Federation (Fédération Française de la Randonnée Pédestre), the long-distance hiking trails GR® allow you to plan a programme over several days or weeks, leaving plenty of time for discovery. Between sea and mountains, through villages and valleys, the riches of Nice Côte d’Azur are yours to discover as you walk.

Did you know ? 💡 Jean Loiseau is credited for creating the GR® trails. A keen walker and nature lover, he travelled the paths of France and Europe, compass and map in hand, for around ten years after the First World War.

Cross 98 kilometres in 5 days in the heart of the Vallée des Merveilles via the GR 52, cover the GR 5 from Larche to Nice in 10 days, admire breathtaking views along the GR 51 between coast and mountains, or embark on the sporty GR 52A route to discover all the panoramas of the Mercantour in 15 days. The Nice Côte d’Azur GR trails are full of surprises!

The GR GTM

The GR Grande Traversée du Mercantour is a 4-day route linking the mountains and the sea, so you can enjoy the diversity of the Nice Côte d’Azur region.
