Thursday 7 November 2024 at 6.30 pm.
The space of sounds and homage to Luigi Nono in music and images.
The Instrumental Studio and the electroacoustic composition class of the conservatory are joining forces with the Ensemble Inicia! to commemorate the centenary of the birth of the Venetian composer Luigi Nono, one of the pioneers of the genre in Italy, who died in 1990. His music for “Die Ermittung” by Peter Weiss will be projected in octophony in our large orchestra of loudspeakers, accompanied by a video creation by the visual artist from Nice Tehos. Two works awarded prizes at the biennial international competition of acousmatic music Métamorphoses 2024 will be performed in the same program, as well as “Répliques” by Michel Pascal, commissioned by the Ina-GRM 2006. The collaboration with the Ensemble Inicia! will extend throughout the week, with in this Olympic year, a new version of “Chants de l’Olympe” by Patrick Marcland and Gualtiero Dazzi, composed from an educational work combining sports practice and music and which is inspired by the aesthetics of the athletic gesture in a collective practice. The work will be screened every day from Monday to Friday in Micadôme, the 32-track immersive space of the Conservatoire de Nice – Université Côte d’Azur.
Luigi Nono will also be in the spotlight at the closing of the event, on Saturday, November 9, with the Ensemble Inicia! at the Entrepont, the screening of Olivier Mille’s film “Archipel Luigi Nono”, and works by Daniel Almada, Claude Debussy, Alain Fourchotte, Salvatore Sciarrino, Antonin Servière,
for flute, horn, saxophone, vibraphone, harp, viola and fixed sounds.
Sessions in Micadôme are also offered from Monday November 4 to Friday November 8 at 6:30 p.m.
