A brass band is a large orchestra composed exclusively of brass and percussion instruments. Widely popular in Great Britain, brass bands are both popular and serious, festive and classical, vibrant and delicate!
In the great and majestic family of brass bands, the latest troublemaker was born in 2000: the Brass Band Méditerranée, "BBMed" to its friends, led by Olivier Mauny, full professor of trumpet at the Conservatoire de Musique et d'Art Dramatique d'Antibes Juan-les-Pins.
Our activities are highly varied: convivial "Brass and Breakfast" concerts accompanied by Sunday morning breakfast, charity concerts, concerts at the Nice Opera, the Palais des Congrès, in churches, for private companies, for festivals throughout the PACA region, and organization of the Antibes International Tuba Competition... To name just a few of the recent years!
And BBmed never ceases to amaze...
