Église du Cœur Immaculé de Marie

The church dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Roquebillière was built in 1950 and is owned by the diocese.

After the disaster of 1926, the new village was gradually built on the other side of the Vésubie river, and the first sod was turned on the Immaculate Heart of Mary church in 1949. This church is the seat of the Vésubie parish. The parish covers seven communes: Venanson, Saint Martin Vésubie, Belvédère, Roquebillière, La Bollène-Vésubie, Lantosque and Utelle, and fifteen villages corresponding to the former parishes of the first decades of the 20th century. This building bears witness to the rural architecture of the middle of the last century and to the determination of the people of Roquebillière after the disaster of 24 November 1926, which engulfed part of the old village on the left bank of the Vésubie, killing 16 people. As the seat of the parish, the parish priest regularly celebrates masses here. The church is open all day every day, so don't hesitate to explore its modern interior.
