After the exhibition "From Dada to Tomorrow, Lesprit Chave", presented in 2009 in these same premises, the anniversary of these three-quarters of a century is a way to pay tribute to the work done by Pierre Chave during the forty-five years of his direction.
All of the works in the exhibition are from the Galerie Chave collection.
Created in Vence in 1947 by Alphonse Chave, directed by him until 1975, then by his son Pierre until 2020, the Chave Gallery is one of the oldest in France. The latter passed away two years ago and is currently managed by his wife Madeleine.
Through the singularity of its choices, the fidelity of its commitment, its interest in drawing and printmaking and its activity as a publisher, the Chave Gallery has never ceased to contribute to the dissemination and promotion of the work of a great many artists. Artists for whom technique, form and meaning are the raison d'être of their approach.
