Igor Mendjisky proposes a show for all audiences where children could think like grown-ups and grown-ups like children.
Freely inspired by the Brothers Grimm's Hansel and Gretel
Gretel and Hansel, like the flavours, have disappeared. The whole country no longer takes time to eat and that evening, after school, the sister and brother did not return home. Since then, everyone is looking for them.
"My adaptation will tell through this story the flight, the way children are abandoned today, the fear of some to find the right path, and above all the need to grow up without losing sight of the fact that it is important to continue telling stories. Always on the edge between dream and reality, the material offered by this story will lend itself to my forms; it will allow this model and these small characters set to images, sound, sound effects and music to take the spectator on a journey, to engulf him in his imagination and the imagination of Hansel and Gretel, the imagination of childhood, of nature, of dreams and of the night.
I think that when we try to remember the child we were, we remember while being fully aware of being an adult, we remember without really remembering. What I mean by this is that the steps we take sometimes take us away from the moments we experienced in the past. But that wonder is lurking in each of us, the need for it, the fear of losing it."
