When the boulevard was created, many buildings were modified, modernized, enlarged or even demolished to make way for larger constructions.
However, the 1881 building, designed by architects Paul Martin and Stéphane Goiran, has remained unchanged from its original design with its two floors, glass door and canopy, as per the original building permit.
