Jocerand Makila – Un Humoriste Originaire d’Angola

My name is Jocerand, I am a young comedian from Toulouse who does stand-up and cinema. Since my childhood, I have liked to make my family and friends laugh and from the age of 19 I started performing in several scenes in Toulouse such as café-theaters, performance halls and many other places. I have won a few awards such as the "Stand-up Winner at the Lez'Arts en scène 2017 Festival" where I performed in front of 200 people.

With my motivation, my ambition, my determination, my work and my patience, I always seek to improve my performance on stage because an artist must never rest on his laurels. Despite the events that affect us, laughter is a remedy that cures us of daily stress.

I really like self-mockery because when a comedian teases himself, he shows even if we are a good person, we will always have things to improve and that we will never be perfect. In my sketches and my show I never use sensitive subjects for the spectators such as "Terrorism, Religion, Politics or Sex" but interesting subjects and adapted for children, adults and the elderly. This show will talk about my whole journey, my family life, my childhood and teenage memories, my country of origin Angola and my dual Franco-Angolan culture in homage to my ancestors who lived during the time of slavery.
