Led by La Bande Passante, the Automne de l'Image celebrates and brings together, for a third season, festivals and events dedicated to photography, cinema and video.
Saturday, September 21 marks the collective launch of this third edition at 109, combining screenings, opening nights, and live music, on the occasion of the European Heritage Days.
From September 21 to October 12, L’IMAGE_SATELLITE, a festival dedicated to contemporary photography, is rolling out its program at 109, with the collective exhibition Sous le sable, abaissees…, and in the galleries of the city center, with a focus on the editorial practices of still images.
From October 4 to 11, Un Festival C’est Trop Court! is showcasing European short films. Four competitions, numerous thematic screenings with a broad focus on Greece, evenings mixing music and cinema, etc.
The Social Cinema Festival is taking place from November 18 to 24 in theaters and online, with a program of diverse cinematographic works that, from fiction to documentary, tell the story of the social.
On November 21 and 22, the LIRCES laboratory of the Université Côte d’Azur is organizing the international conference REC.forward#3, dedicated to social networks as a reservoir of images for contemporary reuses of amateur film.
From November 27 to 30, the Rencontres Cinéma et Vidéo are celebrating their 25th anniversary in support of local creation, with screenings of films on film, a training day and the broadcast of the annual collection in Super 8.
From November 15 to December 1, the OVNi festival (Objectif Vidéo Nice) is celebrating video art with its tenth edition and unveils Le Grand Jeu, between Le 109, hotels, associated places in the city and surroundings.
Other events punctuate this season: a Brazilian Mostra of Casa Doc’; a meeting around contemporary documentaries by Cinéma Sans Frontières with the visit of director Sylvain George; the conference Penser les festivals de films of the 2R3F network and a round table that questions the place of broadcasting; young audience cinema and a practical workshop scheduled during Clown Power and Les Buissonnières; 16mm screenings; the release of Virgil Vernier’s latest feature film; surprise screenings; …
The possibility of an island
La Bande Passante is bouncing back with a Pop-up Traveling Cinema through Le 109, the support venue for this 3rd autumn edition.
Driven by the solidarity and welcome of the residents of the third place, La Bande Passante is taking up the challenge of adapting to each space, La Station, the L’Entre-Pont performance hall and the Frigo 16 concert hall of Panda Events.
