With his biting humor, the power of his wit and the finesse of his language, Beaumarchais depicts our times with astonishing accuracy, although the play was written 247 years ago.

To keep us from crying, Léna Bréban invites us to laugh by assembling a talented troupe, with Philippe Torreton in the title role.

Figaro, Count Almaviva's valet, is preparing to marry Suzanne, the Countess's first maid. The Count, in his pretensions and insatiable desire, threatens to oppose the marriage if the maid doesn't give in to his advances. For her part, the Countess is determined to do justice to her husband's infidelity. This is only the beginning of this crazy day, which promises to be full of intrigue and twists and turns...

A satirical comedy by Beaumarchais, La Folle Journée ou Le Mariage de Figaro explores the romantic and social intrigues at the court of King Louis XVI. In a France where the droit de cuissage still prevails, Beaumarchais serves as a spokesperson for women's rights and challenges authority. Under a falsely light and playful guise, he denounces social injustice and the abusive power of the aristocracy, prefiguring the French Revolution. His audacity earned him years of censorship.
