Under the Baous mountains, La Gaude is a pleasant residential village brimming with Provençal charm. It enchanted Provençal writer Marcel Pagnol, who lived there for 30 years.
The village stretches on a ridge, with its carefully renovated houses and paved narrow streets. Every year in November, the commune organises the ‘Jazz sous les Bigaradiers’ Festival with international and local artists. On the Plaine du Var, La Baronne district forms a vast IT, agronomic and horticultural research centre.
