First, darkness. Then, a few strokes of light. This is the origin of the world.
In this luminous fresco, two quartets face each other: an acting quartet - two puppeteers, a visual artist and a ladder man - and a string quartet that moves around the room, with the double bass as its vibrant heart.
Directed by Brice Berthoud, Marie Girardin
This is the story of the fundamental lack of the human being. This state of permanent search for lost happiness, for childhood, for the Garden of Eden. Desire acts as a compass to find the time of ecstasy. The puppets dialogue with the beautiful and simple philosophy of Roland Barthes in Les Fragments d'un discours amoureux . In their red overalls, scientist's coat or clown costume, the puppets dissect the feeling of love with humour: a heart that beats alone, a minotaur lost in its labyrinth, a pack of wolves, a paper man, are figures that replay our relationship with the Other. The puppet is a metaphor for man manipulated by superior forces. And we discover the Lover caught in his figures, and the imbalance that desire introduces in our lives.
