Les Soeurs Hilton
Theatre
From 22 to 24 January 2025
From Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 January 2025.
The extraordinary duo of Valérie Lesort and Christian Hecq continue to amaze us with this new creation combining theater and magic, following the success of Gulliver's Journey, The Fly and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in previous seasons.
A dive into the world, both flamboyant and desperate, comic and tragic, of fairground monsters.
The Hilton Sisters tells the extraordinary story of Siamese sisters, notably famous for their role in the Tod Browning film, Freaks. Born in 1908 attached at the bottom of the spine, Daisy and Violet were immediately rejected and abandoned by their own mothers, seen as divine punishment. Mary Hilton, the midwife who gave birth to them, decides to adopt them, more out of greed than Christian charity. Exploited throughout their existence, they will pass from hand to hand. Initially freaks at the fair, they will become stars on Broadway and end up in oblivion and poverty.
"We will tell the story of their exceptional destiny in a setting reminiscent of a circus ring, at the center of which there will be an entrance for the artists, a sort of trick box from which different worlds will appear with each opening of the curtain. The show will be punctuated musical numbers, dance, visual and magical effects thus offering the spectator a journey through time, oscillating between theater and cabaret, laughter and tears."
