Vu pas vu offers you the discovery of the most beautiful museums in the world. For this morning, the spotlight will be on the Parc Monceau in Paris, the Hôtel de Camondo & Musée Cernuschi.
A few steps from Parc Monceau are two private mansions that have now become museums, each of them telling the story of two great families in their own way.
The Cernuschi Museum of Asian Arts is housed in the former private mansion of the donor Henri Cernuschi. Dedicated to Asian arts, the museum was inaugurated in 1898 and is thus one of the oldest museums in Paris.
We find there more mainly the arts from the Far East such as China, Japan, Korea or Vietnam.
This world-renowned museum takes us on a journey into a universe filled with high-quality works ranging from ancient Chinese art, Japanese calligraphy or contemporary Chinese painting.
The Nissim de Camondo Museum is located in the private mansion of Moïse de Camondo, very close to the Parc Monceau, this superb museum whose creation was strongly influenced by the architecture of the Petit Trianon of Versailles, is a museum not to be missed for all lovers of French decorative arts from the second half of the 18th century.
Inside we find real masterpieces dating from the time of Louis XV and Louis XVI: furniture, decorative objects and even pieces of silverware.
