Quand la Révolution cubaine stimule des artistes

Conference

20 March 2025

Thursday 20 March 2025 at 6.30 pm.

In 1959, the Castro Revolution triumphed in Cuba. It was accompanied by imagery and artistic works that would accompany not only Fidel Castro but also his close associates such as Ernesto "Che" Guevara.

The conference aims to explore the artistic expression of the early years of the Revolution until 1967, the year of the death of "Che" but also of the organization of an extraordinary exhibition in Havana, the Salon de Mai, relocated from Paris, celebrating both the eighth anniversary of the Revolution and the opening of the Museum of Fine Arts in Havana. This event, remembered as an artist's tribute to the Revolution, will remain in our memories.
