Short, easy hike that will take you to the Lieuson plateau via a mainly shaded path.
From the tourist office (b5), take the Chemin du Puy opposite (b5a), which turns left in front of the snow school to reach the top of the resort by road. At the end of the road, the wide 4 km water trail begins, overlooking the Tinée Valley (b6 to b157 then b86). Once on the plateau, take the Lieuson chairlift back to Berchia (with a previously purchased pedestrian pass).
Once you reach the top of the chairlift, you have two options:
- either head towards the L'Estive reservoir at the Col du Bouchiet (b153) then descend the valley, on the Champ Roulon ski slope, then at marker 15 join the small path to the Fossati bridge. Cross the road and turn right onto the trail that runs along the Riou valley to the tourist office. - Either you go towards marker 152 towards the summit of Berchia, the cross, then go back down to the plateau of Sommet d'Auron (b4a) and finally continue towards Puy d'Auron and return to the road.
