Afghan cuisine is a cross between Eastern and Western cultures: no chillies but lots of fragrant spices.

Thanks to the Silk Roads, Marco Polo left pasta recipes here before reaching Italy; spinach (from Afghanistan) has seduced Europe since the Middle Ages; the influence of India is also predominant, especially for all dishes accompanied by fragrant rice.
