Rue du Poilu

Formerly Carriera Drecha (straight street). As in all cities of the Middle Ages, it was the street that crossed the city from one side to the other.

Moreover, at each end there was a gate that marked the end of the town. It then took the name of Rue du Poilu, in memory of the soldiers of the First World War who used it to get to the station from the citadel. The name "Poilu" referred to someone courageous in colloquial language.
