To make the most of their summer holidays, Elle and her husband Magnus, accompanied by their daughter Frida, spend a few days at their grandparents' little seaside cottage. The setting is idyllic, the countryside peaceful, and everyone is swimming in the lake and happiness. But very quickly, the scenes seem to malfunction and "rewind". When Magnus wants to take Frida swimming on the south coast, the certainty of disaster gradually invades everyone's hearts.
