Nice, a land of events
After its recognised know-how in hosting major sport events (UEFA, Euro 2016, FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019, Tour de France) and its election as “best host” at UEFA 2016, Nice is preparing to host the Rugby World Cup 2023!
Nice, host city
From 16th to 24th September 2023, Nice Côte d’Azur will host four group matches in which several of the world’s leading rugby nations will meet for the 10th edition.
England, Wales, Scotland, Italy, and Japan, the matches are already shaping up to be exceptional!
Various activities in the city, around the stadium, and in the stadium itself are planned to make this World Cup as enjoyable as possible.
Nice is already preparing for the arrival of numerous fans from all over the world. Indeed, British fans have bought a large part of the tickets, and the reservations already registered come mainly from far away destinations (Australia, New Zealand, Japan…).
“This is great news for our city and for this magnificent sport, which I have made a priority […]. The 2023 Rugby World Cup is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the rugby dynamic in our region.” #NiceisrugbyChristian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Area, Delegate President of the Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur Region
