The Nice Carnival is famous the world over for its spectacular parades, giant floats and dazzling flower battles. But that’s not all! Explore the carnival festivities, from the coast to the high country, which resonate in all 4 corners of the region.

Naval combat in full bloom at Villefranche-sur-mer

🌸 On Monday 19 February, Villefranche-sur-Mer and the Mediterranean pointus boats will be holding their traditional Battle of the Flowers on the Water. Adorned with thousands of carnations and mimosas, more than twenty fishing boats will be parading around Port de la Santé!

On the programme:

  • 11am – Entertainment in the François Binon gardens
  • 1.30pm– Carnival parade along the quayside
  • 2pm – Combat naval fleuri at Port de la Santé

Carnival is celebrated in 6 other towns

  • Saturday 17 February – Carnival in Vence. Make-up workshop, parade, tasting, craft workshops, shows, dances…;
  • Sunday 18 February – Carnival at Belvédère at 2.30pm – Place Pavy. With the “Sestiere BURGU” flag-throwing company;
  • Wednesday 21 February – Carnival in Saint-Laurent-du-Var at 1.30pm – Esplanade 154 rue Alphonse Daudet. With the Classi Jazz company;
  • Thursday 22 February – Carnival in Clans at 2pm in front of the Town Hall. With the Ana Botella company;
  • Friday 1st March – Carnival in Saint-Martin-du-Var at 2.30pm – Complexe François Zucca. With the Bonbeck company;
  • Sunday 3 March – Carnival in Drap at 2pm – Place Georges Clémenceau. With the Marching Band company;
  • Wednesday 6 March – Carnival at Isola 2000;
  • Sunday 17 March – Carnival in Saint-André-de-la-Roche at 2pm – Place Musso. With the Exotica company.
