Perched villages

The Nice Côte d’Azur region is rich in over fifty towns and villages. Among them are many perched villages. Clinging to a cliff or nestling in a green setting, they all offer visitors a preserved heritage and environment.

The Mid Country

Not far from the shores of the Mediterranean, the perched villages of the Mid Country of Nice offer a haven of peace, authenticity and heritage discoveries. Old oil mills, fountains, wash houses, chapels… with the added bonus of panoramic views of the valleys, the sea or the mountains. The colours of the houses exalt under the sun. The surrounding countryside is generous. (Cover photo: La Tour-sur-Tinée @Agence Média H 265 / OTM NCA)

The High Land

Fortresses of the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis, the towns of the High Land are built on the rock or spread out harmoniously in the valleys. Visitors can enjoy the fresh air and breathtaking views. Some villages seem to have remained unchanged since medieval times, and that is why they are so loved! Summer brings beauty to the lakes, surrounding forests and rivers. In winter, the landscape is covered in a white coat and offers ski lovers exceptional skiing areas.

From the shores of the Mediterranean to the summits of the Mercantour, Nice Côte d’Azur offers, in all seasons, infinite possibilities of visits!
