The National Sport Museum – Nice

I visited the National Sports Museum in Nice and let me tell you, it was a great discovery!

The Museum houses one of the largest collections of legendary sports objects, archives and documents on four themes: collective challenges, individual challenges, man-to-man challenges and challenges beyond limits.

In addition to a permanent exhibition to relive the most emotionally significant sporting events in history, the National Sports Museum also offers temporary exhibitions for the enjoyment of children and adults alike.

As someone who is not particularly interested and knows very little about the world of sport, I was surprised by the interest and richness of this Museum; it was a very enriching experience for me.

Accompanied by a guide, this enthusiast reveals some of the most intense events in sport, from ancient times to the present day. What beautiful discoveries I have made since my first steps in this sports sanctuary!

A large collection of Olympic torches and medals from the four corners of the world are on display, the first of which date back to 1948; it was a real pleasure to contemplate each one of them.

The museum visit

From legendary objects to interactive activities… I just wanted to stay in this place to see everything!

As the tour continues, I discover each object that has marked mankind through great feats… as an athlete in search of limitless perfection.

What a joy to commemorate the 1998 World Cup final, by finding the famous ball on display in one of the Museum’s showcases; enough to plunge lovers of this sport into unforgettable memories!

For fans of new technologies, I tested a bicycle simulator and also a virtual reality helmet, the best way to put oneself in the shoes of the greatest legends of the sport! A fun way to discover while having fun.

Once the visit was over, I headed to the Museum shop to leave with a great keychain of the 2018 French World Cup final!

In conclusion, if you’re in need of adrenaline and a cultural knowledge boost, the Sports Museum is for you!
