Ilonse is a picturesque Mediaeval village located 1250m above sea level at the confluence of the Tinée River and Castiglione stream, offering calm and serenity.
It is built in tiers, with a splendid covered wash house with columns, superb stone façades, a Baroque chapel painted bright yellow, a Mediaeval arcaded covered passageway and a little square with a panoramic terrace, etc. At the highest point in the village, an orientation table identifies all the main peaks in the Alpes-Maritimes département.
