An unusual monument to discover in the centre of Nice. Inspired by traditional Muscovite churches, Saint Nicolas Cathedral blends into the heart of the city's Baroque and Belle Epoque architecture.
Inspired by the style of Moscow churches, the interior is richly decorated, with numerous icons, frescoes, sculpted woodwork and an iconostasis in embossed and chiselled metal. As the primary purpose of this site is a place of worship, certain rules must be observed. Entry to the cathedral may be refused if these principles are not respected. Correct dress is required. It is forbidden for men to visit the cathedral shirtless.
