The Cinematheque of Nice schedules more than 400 heritage and recent films in subtitled original versions and in French.
The Cinémathèque also regularly organises meetings and events to allow for an exchange of views on the works, in the presence of filmmakers, actors, critics or film historians. It attracts around 50,000 spectators per year. Its mission is also to preserve and promote the film heritage. It offers introductory workshops in animated film every Wednesday from October to June and during school holidays. These workshops offer children aged 7 and over the opportunity to make their own cartoon, alone or in a team, from the creation of the characters and the storyboard to the editing and soundtracking of the film. Sessions for young audiences with classics or more recent films, every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon.
