For a stopover on the GR5 or an escapade in the heart of nature, the gîte offers simple and friendly accommodation and traditional southern cuisine.
On the GR5 (Grande Traversée des Alpes) trail, Roya offers sweeping alpine panoramas of Le Mounier, Le Ferrant, L'Alp, and Le Rougnous. This pastoral hamlet is a gateway to the heart of the Mercantour National Park and invites you to explore unspoiled sites. It's an ideal place to discover the mountains and enjoy an ecotourism experience.
The gîte offers simple and friendly accommodation (sleeps 22) and traditional cuisine from the Southern Alps, Nice, and Provence (on a half-board or overnight basis). A table d'hôtes (table d'hôtes) is available for lunch upon reservation. Snacks, drinks, and pastries are available for guests and hikers.
In summer, various hikes are accessible directly from the gîte (Mont Mounier, Tour du Ferrant, Col de Pal, Riou Blanc and Burente, Col du Blainon, Tour des granges de Clos Giordan and Baudric, etc.). In winter, ski touring and snowshoeing are popular. The Auron resort and the cable car (La Pinatelle) in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée are a 15-20 minute drive away. The access road (M61) is open year-round.
