La Place Ile-de-Beaute

Having become an essential living space over the years, Place Île de Beauté has remarkable architectural aesthetics, in a neoclassical style which fits perfectly with the Port of Nice.

It has become the new vibrant neighbourhood of Nice! A short walk from Place Garibaldi and the Petit Marais Niçois, the port of Nice is structured around Place Île de Beauté and its famous Église Notre Dame (also called Church of the Immaculate Conception). On either side of the famous monument, the architect Joseph Vernier conceived a perfect symmetry of buildings which gives this district a unique style. Popular with the people of Nice and holidaymakers, it is a real living space where people love to meet with friends, at one of the numerous bar and restaurant terraces which surround it. Now very accessible, it is connected to Nice airport by line 2 of the tram in just 23 minutes. The whole Place Île de Beauté, including particularly the Notre Dame church, some façades and porticos, as well as its famous staircase, have been registered Historic Monuments since 1991.
