Le Negresco

An iconic five-star hotel in the heart of the Promenade des Anglais, the Negresco has become a real emblem of Nice and French-style luxury hotels over the years.

This legendary Côte d'Azur establishment was built by Edouard-Jean Niermans under the leadership of Henri Negresco, maître d'hôtel for rich clients, who decided to open his own luxury hotel. Its inauguration in 1912 brought together no fewer than seven crowned heads who came to explore this extraordinary palace on Nice's Promenade des Anglais. Behind its sublime Belle Epoque façade, it houses numerous art collections in its ground floor salons and upstairs corridors leading to 128 rooms as well as 26 suites, each with its own decoration.
Hiding at its heart is a spectacular conservatory which hosts many events under a sparkling Baccarat chandelier of 4.6 metres, composed of 16,800 crystals. Having become over the years the emblem of Nice and the Côte d"Azur, Le Negresco has been awarded numerous prizes. In 2001, it obtained
recognition as a 20th century Heritage site. In 2003, the building's facades, roofing as well as the Royal Salon and its conservatory were registered as Historical Monuments. Finally, the establishment is a registered Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant [Living Heritage Company] in 2015.
