Vence has always been a place of welcome and trade and has had a very strong Christian influence. The bishops, the Saints and even a pope have played their part in the history of the city. Seventy bishops followed one another between 374 and 1801.
And even today you can still admire the numerous chapels which bear witness of the past. Most of these chapels are closed to the public, but you can enjoy their exterior.
