Parc des Bugadières

A cool haven for family walks, a fitness trail and an informative walk on botanical species... the choice is yours...

Inaugurated during the National Environment Days on 7 June 2002, the ‘Bugadières Park Promenade’ is the second phase of the ‘coulée bleue’ project. No fewer than 12,000 plants have been planted along the 700-metre stretch between the secondary schools and the sports park. This project also stands out for the exclusive use of natural materials in its construction: reinforcement and recalibration of the banks... and therefore no concrete!

The promenade has a threefold objective:
1-Securing the safety of people and property by meeting the standards introduced to prevent a 100-year flood. This is a particularly important point, given that we're right on the doorstep of the city centre.
2-Create an exemplary environmental improvement project, the first of its kind in the department to use ‘soft’ plant engineering techniques.
3-Opening up to the people of Cagnais a high-quality public park, accessible to people with reduced mobility.
