Parc Forestier du Mont Boron

A huge 57 hectares, the Mont Boron Forest Park nestles on the hill of the same name between Nice and Villefranche. Athletes and Sunday walkers appreciate its rare vegetation and its exceptional view over the entire Côte d'Azur.

The Parc Forestier du Mont Boron offers an escape up in the wilds. It is said that 400,000 years ago, it was the hunting ground of our prehistoric ancestors who occupied at that time the Terra-Amata cave right at the foot of the hill. Today, it is a vast 57-hectare park, frequented by hikers and families who come to enjoy its exceptional vegetation and its breath-taking panorama. Indeed, 11 kilometres of footpaths are laid out inside a genuine Mediterranean forest. Here, you walk between Aleppo pine trees, green oak trees, wild olive trees as well as many other species specific to the region. Some plants are very rare and protected such as rose daphne, the Nice snowflake and the dwarf palm.
At the heart of the park, the Fort du Mont Alban, registered as a Historical Monument, stands before the walkers, amazed by its imposing structure. The place is also punctuated with pétanque rinks, exercise trails and relaxation areas with picnic tables. Finally, the Parc du Mont Boron certainly offers one of the most beautiful views of the region, from Italy to the Estérel.
