The lighthouse has been classified as a Historic Monument since 2012.
Built in 1732, the lighthouse was intended to replace the old 16th-century fire tower. Destroyed in 1944, it was rebuilt in its current form after the war.
It offers a unique panorama stretching from the Estérel to the Italian coast. The lighthouse is now closed to the public.
Fountain inaugurated in September 2007 in the presence of COEXIST Foundation President James Kidner, Cherie Blair, wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and U2 singer Bono.
The coastal path cuts a path through the limestone cliffs or along the edge of the sharp reefs from which the Cap-Ferrat lighthouse protected sailors for decades.
