The Ornithological Zone: between the sea and the mountains on the passage of migratory birds. The Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis has its "little Camargue" in Saint-Laurent du Var.
Located between the Cap 3000 shopping centre and Nice Côte d'Azur airport at the mouth of the Var, this ornithological reserve is a favoured stopover for many migratory birds, such as Little Gravelots and Redshanks. The Parc Départemental des Rives du Var has also been developed to enable walkers and cyclists to observe these species by means of explanatory panels on the wooden decking.
