In a large, bourgeois mansion in the snowy countryside, people are preparing to celebrate Christmas. But tragedy strikes: the master of the house is murdered.
Eight women close to the victim (his wife, his wives, his sister-in-law, his sister, his mother-in-law, the maid, the servant) are present: the culprit is necessarily one of them. Thus begins a long day of investigation, arguments, revelations, and betrayals. Because each has reasons for having committed the crime and for lying to the others.
