Situated below the chapel, it owes its name to the Belgian victims of the First World War who died at Villa Les Cèdres.
The property of former Belgian King Leopold II had been converted into a military hospital by his nephew Albert I.

The Saint-Hospice chapel was built in the 11th century on the ruins of a sanctuary.
Its appearance evolved over time.
Nestling at the summit of Pointe Saint-Hospice, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat's communal cemetery looks like the end of the world. It was created in 1905, thanks to the generosity of Auguste Gal, a wealthy merchant from Nice, who donated the land.

The bronze Madonna (11m40 high) adjacent to the chapel was built in 1903 at the request of a wealthy merchant from Nice, following the fulfillment of a vow. It was sculpted by Tranquillo Galbusieri.
