Exhibition
From 19 September 2025 to 17 May 2026
From 19/09/2025 to 17/05/2026 on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and weekends.
The Contemporary Jewellery Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer is hosting a monographic exhibition dedicated to Joël Faivre-Chalon (1953-2020), a renowned French jeweller and key figure in contemporary jewellery.
Opening: Friday, 19 September at 6 p.m.
Trained in Strasbourg and based in Montpellier, Joël Faivre-Chalon has never considered jewellery to be merely ornamental: his pieces are the result of patient research into form (rather minimalist), technique and materials. Joël Faivre-Chalon was equally comfortable working with brass and silver as he was with innovative materials such as titanium, Formica® and carbon fibre.
Thanks to a collection of archives, photographs, drawings, sketches and a body of works and prototypes generously donated to the Museum of Contemporary Jewellery by the artist's wife, the exhibition traces Joël Faivre-Chalon's artistic career and highlights his creative process.
Guided tours, workshops, a monograph (published in December) and a booklet distributed free of charge at the museum reception will accompany the public in their discovery of the exhibition and the work of this artist who left his mark on his era.
