Winter Boot Camp – Auron

With my colleagues, we tested the winter boot-camp in Auron.

The idea of offering a boot camp with a « Koh Lanta » atmosphere was born four years ago, for individual summer clients. The « snow version » of the boot camp is proposed for groups of 10 to 20 people.

Our adventure began in the early afternoon. On the recommendations of our coaches Emile and Richard (state-qualified mountain guides) we formed two teams of five people to take part in the challenge (I recommend doing this activity in the morning to be able to enjoy the sun during the workshops and also before the lunch break!)

The principle is simple. The teams must compete on a circuit with several fun, sporting and strategic workshops. Orientation, running in the snow « roped up », obstacle course, search for a person with an avalanche victim detector, etc… You have to follow an itinerary full of pitfalls and workshops, with real-life situations, all in order to get points. Conviviality, team spirit and confrontation are the key words of this activity!

I was part of the orange team (the winning team!). After putting on our battle outfits (make-up, flag and scarf), we started our challenge. It lasted two hours. Normally the challenge takes place over three hours and includes the « airboard sledge » activity but due to time constraints, the organisers modulated the course according to our requirements.

It’s an athletic (good physical condition required) but fun (laughter guaranteed!!!) activity, which I recommend without any moderation. I can already see myself doing this activity again with my friends on my birthday, for example!

To be brought by the participants of this winter boot camp in Auron: gloves, hat, shoes for walking in the snow, warm clothes adapted to the mountain, backpack with water and energy bars…

From 12 years old.

The adventure continues…
